The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta is coming to PlayStation 4 on 19 August, with other platforms to follow later.

Last week Activision announced that the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One and PC will arrive in August. It turns out, however, that PS4 owners will get an extra five days of beta access, according to new details coming out of Comic-Con in San Diego.

The PS4 Black Ops 3 multi-player beta will arrive on 19 August; other platforms will get access from 23 August.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 had a significant presence at the event this year, with Activision providing plenty of new details about the upcoming title. A highlight for many was the Zombie Room Escape Challenge, which is where this beta information comes from.

Those who attended the event were given a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial card, which came complete with brief information on the multi-player beta. We’re not sure, though, that we'd risk getting eaten by a zombie just to play the next Call of Duty – or would we?

As you can see from the leaflet above, the beta will be exclusive to PS4 for five days. A closing date hasn't been announced however, which is unusual for such a popular title.

Activision also publicised a special edition that comes with its very own mini-fridge. Details on the new Shadows of Evil Zombie mode were revealed, too, along with a bonus map that will be available to only those who pre-order the game.

Sony made it clear at this year's E3 that all Call of Duty DLC would now be coming to PlayStation first, with a 30-day window of exclusivity. This deal previously belonged to Microsoft.

The full Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 game will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on 6 November.
