Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart with the Activision published title becoming the year’s biggest entertainment launch, and the fourth largest release of all time.
Dethroning Halo 4 following its midweek November 13 Black Ops 2 release date, the latest addition to the globally dominant Call of Duty franchise has unsurprisingly topped the UK Gaming Chart with Xbox 360 gamers accounting for 60 per cent of all sales.
With PS3 gamers responsible for a further 38 per cent of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sales, PC users handled a lowly 2 per cent of the title’s long predicted all format chart success.
Unseating bitter rival Halo 4 at the top of the charts, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 lead of a top three rounded out by chart mainstay FIFA 13 with a collection of high-profile pre-Christmas gaming releases filling the remaining chart positions.
Whilst Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3 dropped two places to finish the week ending November 17 in fourth position, spots five and six were filled by Skylanders and Need for Speed: Most Wanted respectively. With Just Dance 4 and Borderlands 2 lining up in positions seven and eight, the week’s top ten was rounded out by The Sims 3 and time absorbing Football Manager 2013.
