Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare rounds out the year as UK’s top game

Activision is to end 2014 as top dog in the gaming space as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare secures another week as the UK’s top selling game.

With Advanced Warfare having last week been crowned the 2014 Christmas number one, the latest COD offering has retained top spot for another week, marking it out as the game to bring in 2015.

While Call of Duty is unmoved in pole position, it’s all change below, with GTA 5 dislodging FIFA 15 in second position thanks to a 33 per cent rise in week-on-week sales.

Although FIFA 15 has held on to round out the podium positions, the slump marks the first time since 2009 that a FIFA offering hasn’t ending the year in the top two spots.

Thanks to a number of retailer discounts, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity has risen to fourth in the final chart of the year, with fellow Ubisoft release Far Cry 4 dropping to fifth.

Further down the charts, The Crew has held on to sixth spot for a second week while Driveclub has jumped back into the top ten in seventh thanks to a 24 per cent rise in week-on-week sales.

With Minecraft titles filling positions eight (Xbox Edition) and nine (PlayStation Edition), LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham rounds out the top ten thanks to an 11 per cent jump in post-Christmas sales.
