Bucket favourite character in Evolve beta

Developer Turtle Rock has revealed the favoured character during the Evolve beta was the robot Bucket.

During the Evolve open beta, players were favouring Bucket as their chosen character – when they had a chance to choose anyway.

Speaking to TrustedReviews, Evolve’s producer Chloe Skew revealed Bucket was the character of choice for Xbox One gamers.

“Well, Bucket’s really popular but that might be because he’s a rather funny robot,” explained Skew.

Bucket is a second tier Support class character, and is equipped with a Guided Missile Launcher, deployable Sentry Guns and a rather useful detachable UAV that makes him very equipped for taking on organic enemies – i.e. The Monster.

It seems like gamers were also surprised how enjoyable playing as the Medic is in Evolve.

“We’ve had a lot of people who played Medic and really enjoyed it – and they didn’t expect to because Medic is usually a boring role in most shooters”.

During the Evolve beta, you could play the Medics Val and Lazurus. Val has an Armour-Piercing Sniper Rifle and Hunter-healing med gun that you’ll use to revive your buddies.

Lazurus on the other hand can restore life to any of his fully dead Hunter buddies, and has a Silenced Sniper Rifle and a Personal Cloak to help him evade the Monster.

“The thing is that the way Evolve is laid out, there’s no one character that’s more important than the others,” added Skew.
