bttn is the simplest user interface in the world

bttn
One touch is all you need

Technology doesn’t come much simpler than the bttn. As the name suggests, it’s a button that can be used to control anything on your computer, from music to emails to social media.

If you know someone who’s turned off by complicated technology, maybe the bttn could be for them. Wirelessly connect it to your internet-connected phone, tablet or computer, and you can control almost any function with the push of a button. Send emails. Update your Facebook status. Play music, and more.

It’s up to you what you use it for. You can have it control very complicated functions, or very simple ones for the less technologically-minded. But whatever the function, the action is always the same – just push a button.

It's designed for use at home as well as in other premises. At the surgery, it could alert the doctor that the next patient is ready. You could use it to order your favourite meal for lunch, or to control smart home devices like internet-enabled fridges and kettles. The possibilities are almost endless.

It’s powered by four AA batteries, or you can plug it in using a microUSB power adaptor. To use 3G data, slot in a GSM microSIM card with a mobile data plan. Or you can connect it over Wi-Fi.

Then just head to my.bt.tn, create an account, and give your bttn a name and location. Then press Configure to assign an action – choose from either preconfigured, or make your own.

It’s so far raised over $19,000 on Indiegogo, but is still a way off its target of $50,000.
