Spotify has refreshed the landing page for its US service to say “the award-winning music service that’s taken Europe by storm will soon be landing on US shores.”
While this in itself doesn’t give us a specific date for a launch in the US, it does indicate that the service is moving closer and closer to launching on the other side of the Atlantic. We reported last month on rumours that Spotify had inked a deal with Universal Music Group - leaving only Warner Music Group standing in the way of a launch in the US.
The new landing page also allows users to sign up for an email invite to be among the first to get Spotify in the US. As we said, the refreshed page doesn’t give us a definite date and Mashable spoke to a spokesperson from Spotify who said: “We have updated our landing page in advance of launch. Still no specifics on the launch I’m afraid, just We’re working hard to launch the service in the US as soon as possible. All we can say right now is watch this space.”
We’ll keep you updated as we hear more about the launch.
