Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless headphones now available, but they’re not cheap

Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled its first ever pair of Bluetooth headphones, and they’re aptly named the P5 Wireless.

The British loudspeaker company previously entered the headphone market with the wired P5 cans, but it’s now decided to launch a cable-free successor.

The P5 Wireless headphones are built using similarly ritzy materials – we’re talking swanky leather and aluminium.

The headphones connect using Bluetooth aptX technology, the very same kind that features in the Bowers & Wilkins T7 speaker.

The company says the new headphones are “capable of reproducing the best possible sound” that your device can deliver.

That’s thanks to two 1.2-inch (40mm) full-range drivers, which offer a respectable frequency range of 10Hz to 20KHz.

Of course, as with any wireless headphones, battery life is a major issue of contention. Fortunately, the P5 Wireless claim a 17-hour charge cycle, which is impressive for serious cans.

It’s worth noting that you can also tune in with the P5 Wireless using a supplied cable if, for instance, your battery runs dry.

The device charges using Micro USB, works with standard 3.5mm audio connections, and comes with its own carry case.

The P5 Wireless also ships with two built-in high-quality microphones, which means you can use the headphones for hands-free calling.

We’ve got a review sample in the office, so stay tuned for a full review of the P5 Wireless headphones.

However, you’ll be able to buy the P5 Wireless headphones starting today. However, you might need to rummage down the back of the sofa for some extra change – these premium cans are retailing at £329.99. Ouch.
