Bose has announced its first sport-centric headphones. The Bose SIE2 and the iPhone remote-bearing SIE2i are much more colourful than the average Bose headphone, and cost £104.95 and £129.95 respectively.
Not a brand generally thought of as all that sporty, Bose has teamed-up with Reebok to produce the SIE2 and SIE2i. The Reebok name doesn't appear on the earphones themselves, but a Reebok-branded armband comes bundled with each set. These earphones are roughly based on the design of the Bose MIE2i earphones, but offer a few exercise-friendly features. And, like so many sport earphones, they're very colourful. The Bose SIE2 come in a bright green shade, and the SIE2i either green or orange.

The acoustic ports of the headphones have been designed so that sweat won't be a problem, and they come with what Bose calls a "hydrophobic" cloth, to let you give them a wipe down after pumping some serious iron down at the local gym. The positioning of these ports is also intended to reduce wind noise, for runners.
Like the Bose MIE2i, the SIE2 and SIE2i use StayHear tips that use the shape of the inside of your ear to keep the earphones firmly in place. However, these sports buds use a shorter cable than usual, to avoid getting tangled with any limbs. An extension cable is included too, though.
The Reebok sport band is intended to keep your MP3 player safely attached to your arm, and is made of breathable fabric to improve comfort. We expect the SIE2i headphones will offer similar sound quality to Bose's current in-ear pairs, but we'll be getting them in for a full review soon.
The Bose SIE2i and SIE2 are available now from Bose stores.
