Bose QuietComfort 20 noise-cancelling headphones launched

Bose has announced its new noise-cancelling in-ear headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 20.

The Bose QuietComfort 20 weigh 1.5 ounces and offer the superb noise-cancelling technology that is synonymous with Bose.

“The Bose QC20s are a revolutionary headphone”, said Sean Garrett, Vice President of the Bose Noise Reduction Technology Group. “Just like your phone, you’ll want to take them everywhere,

Bose also announced the Bose SoundLink Mini Speaker that is so compact it fits in the palm of the hand and features Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

“Handheld speakers aren’t new, but none are like the SoundLink Mini,” said Phil Hess, Vice President of Bose’s Home Entertainment Division. “Developing a smaller speaker wasn’t the goal and it wasn’t enough. The SoundLink Mini had to be small, and it had to offer better sound than any speaker of its size. And we believe it does.”

Bose QuietComfort 20 Features
The Bose QuietComfort 20 are the first in-ear headphones from Bose to offer the noise-cancelling technology. Weighing just 1.5 ounces or 42.5g, the light headphones are fitted with two microphones in each ear bud. The first detects the sound inside the ear, while the other sense any incoming sound. When combined the microphones cancel out any interference noise.

Featuring the StayHear ear tips, those talon-like parts on top of the ear buds, the Bose QuietComfort 20 stay in the ear comfortably and position themselves for the best sound quality.

Packing Bose’s TriPort technology, the in-ear headphones boost the quality of all the sound ranges from the bass to those sparkling top notes. The headphones also include Bose active equalisation technology.

The noise-cancelling functionality can also be turned off to switch to ‘Aware’ mode, allowing the surrounding to be heard for safety reasons. The headphones pack a rechargeable battery for the noise-cancelling technology that offers 16 hours of power on a single charge, but doesn’t require the battery for normal listening.

The headphones also feature an integrated inline microphone and controls for hands-free calls and music functions.

Bose QuietComfort 20 Release Date and Price
The Bose QuietComfort 20 will be available from this summer with a price tag of £259.95. The Bluetooth wireless Bose SoundLink Mini speaker will retail for £169.95 from July 11. Pre-orders for the speaker start today direct from Bose.
