Bose AE2w Bluetooth headphones launched

Bose has launched its first Bluetooth wireless headphones, the Bose AE2w, that still pack the traditional Bose sound quality.

The stereo wireless over-ear headphones are light and portable despite the additional Bluetooth battery pack and the Bose AE2w are specially optimised for use with the iPad range.

Bose AE2w Features
The Bose AE2w is the sibling to the Bose AE2i and Bose AE2 noise-cancelling duo. Packing in the classic Bose audio technology, the Bose AE2w allows users to enjoy their films, music or TV shows wirelessly.

Inbuilt with Bose’s TriPort technology, the Bose AE2w offers active equalisation to create more natural sounding audio and rich tone even on the deepest bass.

The ear cups are made from soft cushioning materials that Bose claims will make the Bose AE2w comfortable enough to wear for hours on end. Lightweight too, the Bose AE2w features a detachable, battery-powered Bluetooth dongle on the left earcup, but it apparently weighs the same as a cable would.

Optimised for use with an iPad, the Bose AE2w is also compatible with most Bluetooth devices that support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile or A2DP. Pairing the headphones is done wirelessly by pressing two buttons on the aforementioned Bluetooth adaptor on the left earcup.

The Bose AE2w also features a microphone so users can switch between listening to music and taking phone calls.

If users don’t want to go wireless, the Bose AE2w also come with an audio cable for wired connectivity. Charging via a USB cable, the Bose AE2w headphones display battery life, connection status and power indicators, and when using an iOS device, this information will also be shown on-screen.

Bose AE2w Release Date and Price

Available from May 14, the Bose AE2w Bluetooth headphones will have an RRP of £199.95. The headphones can be purchased from authorised Bose dealers, official Bose stores or from the Bose website.
