BlackBerry Z30 release date and pricing announced

The BlackBerry Z30 release date has been set as September 27, with the 5-inch smartphone exclusively available at Selfridges at the start.

Initially, Selfridges will be the exclusive retailer of the BlackBerry Z30, offering the phone on O2 and Vodafone tariffs or SIM-free.

O2 and Vodafone tariffs for the BlackBerry Z30 start at £32 per month on a two year contract. EE contracts will be available from Selfridges at a later date.

You could also opt to buy the BlackBerry Z30 SIM-free, which will set you back £529.

BlackBerry has also equipped the Z30 with 4G LTE compatibility, meaning you can purchase the 5-inch smartphone on the O2, Vodafone and EE 4G networks from September 27 too.

BlackBerry Z30 Features
The BlackBerry Z30 is the largest of the BlackBerry 10 OS handsets with a 5-inch 1290 x 720p HD AMOLED display with a 295ppi image density.

BlackBerry has also packed the Z30 with the largest battery yet too, with a non-removable 2,880mAh battery that is said to provide around 25 hours of continuous and varied use.

In the rear is an 8-megapixel camera and the Z30 is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU.

There are also a set of integrated stereo speakers, potentially an attempt to rival Android alternatives like the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.

Running the latest BlackBerry 10.2 OS, the BlackBerry Z30 has new features like the Priority Hub, which pushes through important conversations and putting them at the front of the screen from various sources including Facebook, BBM and emails.

Another new software feature is BlackBerry Natural Sound, which makes BBM Voice and BBM Video Chats sound more “natural and realistic”, according to BlackBerry.
