The BlackBerry World Store has been updated with all new movie, music and app content ahead of the today’s BlackBerry 10 launch.
Users heading over to the BlackBerry World web storefront will see the new music additions adorning the BlackBerry World store home page.
The new Blackberry 10 BlackBerry World Store is set to offer its customers music, films and TV shows amongst its usual app range, but as of yet the UK BlackBerry World store has only been updated to include music.
US customers have already been treated to a BlackBerry World homepage video tab, with the UK store surely soon to follow as the BlackBerry 10 event is just a few hours away.
Previously called the BlackBerry App World, the new and improved BlackBerry 10 BlackBerry World store looks set to be the RIM rival to Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
Currently music prices look to range from £1 for singles, £1.79 for EPs and between £5.50 and £8 for albums when bought via the BlackBerry World store. With prices that are very similar to those offered by iTunes, BlackBerry World store content could a great new addition for BlackBerry 10 handset owners.
With the new music, TV and film content, the BlackBerry World store offers games, themes and apps that include multi-platform favourites such as Angry Birds. The recent BlackBerry 10 app port-a-thons have seen tens of thousands of new apps being created for the soon-to-be-released RIM OS, so BlackBerry 10 users could see a whole host of previously unseen apps for their BB10 devices.
BlackBerry 10 will launch this afternoon at a dedicated event in London, where RIM are said to be revealing their new BlackBerry 10 handsets. Rumours suggest that the first BlackBerry handset, the BlackBerry Z10 will launch immediately after the event sporting the new BlackBerry 10 OS and BlackBerry World store.
