BlackBerry – bless its heart – has a different way of doing things, compared with other phone manufacturers.
The BlackBerry Priv, an important landmark as the first Android phone, was announced without any fanfare and very little in the way of official specs or details of availability.
Earlier on Friday we brought news it had gone up for pre-order in the UK at Carphone Warehouse and finally, now, the firm has released a hands-on video showing the Android Lollipop device in action.
The 41-second YouTube clip, which is the first official promotional video for the 5.4-inch slider, shows the Android OS combined with the Canadian company’s own BlackBerry Hub borrowed from BB10.
It also shows users tapping away on the touchscreen only to summon that sliding QWERTY keyboard when it comes time to reply to a message.

The design is a knock-out and it looks perfectly pitched at those who want to blend the best of BlackBerry with everything Android brings in terms of ease of use and access to the Google Play Store.
