Bioshock Infinite retains UK All Format Gaming Chart for third week

Bioshock Infinite has maintained its position at the top of the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the third week running, strengthening its place at the UK’s most popular new gaming release.

2K Games’ addition to the Bioshock series has retained its crown for the most popular game in the UK for a third week, managing to hold out over former chart leader Tomb Raider. The Crystal Dynamics reboot is holding firm at number two, where it has placed for the past four weeks.

The two games are now actually only separated by 2,500 sales, meaning next week’s number one could change.

Last week’s new entry, futuristic online shooter Defiance, has been bumped down to fourth place from third, which has now been filled by popular football simulator FIFA 13.

Nintendo’s Luigi’s Mansion 2 is a non-mover at number 5, whilst Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3 both rose a place to sixth and seventh respectively. These two games pushed Gears of War: Judgment down from sixth to eight for the week ending April 13.

In a week suffering from a lack of new releases, the last two spots in the Top 10 UK All Format Gaming Chart were filled by two re-entries. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes climbed four places from thirteen to nine and Far Cry 3 leapt from twelfth to tenth.

Need for Speed Most Wanted and Skylanders Giants no longer feature in the UK All Format Gaming Chart Top 10, despite make re-entries themselves last week.
