Beyond Good and Evil launched way back in 2003 for PS2, Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube to critical acclaim. Unfortunately, it was a commercial failure for Ubisoft, leading to a long-awaited sequel to be revealed but never released.

However, there is still hope, as developer Michel Ancel recently confirmed that the sequel has entered pre-production.

This announcement was preceded by a series of concept art images uploaded to Ancel’s instagram account. They appear to show a selection of new and familiar characters from the original adventure.

Destructoid reported earlier this year that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in development as a Nintendo NX exclusive, so we could see a reveal later this year.
