Bethesda: Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t coming any time soon

Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is not currently in active development.

Company VP Pete Hines broke the news via Twitter when answering a fan’s question regarding Bethesda’s upcoming titles.

When asked if titles such as Quake: Champions and Prey would “take away the focus” from Elder Scrolls, Hines said “we aren’t working on TES6 at the moment.”

The release of Elders Scrolls 6 is inevitable, but it appears we won’t be playing for several years at least.

Bethesda is still hard at work on downloadable content for Fallout 4 and also plans to release Skyrim: Definitive Edition later this year for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Considering the release window between Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4 was roughly 5 years or so, we likely won’t see another entry in the franchise until 2020 at the earliest.
