BBC Two HD now available

The BBC Two HD channel will be available from today, partnering the already successful BBC One HD and replacing the BBC HD channel.

Available on Sky HD, Virgin Media, Freesat HD, BT Vision and Freeview HD/Youview from today, BBC Two HD will extinguish the BBC HD Channel and offer the BBC Two programming schedule in HD resolutions.

The channel’s launch was announced back in February, and will see the BBC Two HD channel sidle up alongside the BBC One HD Channel launched in 2010.

“BBC One HD has already proved to be highly valued by our audiences and I’m delighted that we’re able to follow this with the launch of BBC Two in HD,” said Janice Hadlow, Controller of BBC Two. “The launch of BBC Two HD will allow us to showcase more of our programmes at their very best – helping to highlight our commitment to high quality, engaging and ambitious programmes on BBC Two.”

Offering a host of BBC Two programming in HD for the first time, viewers can enjoy series like The Fall and Paul Hollywood’s Bread as well as classic episodes of Mock the Week, Springwatch and QI on the BBC Two HD channel.

BBC Two HD will broadcast the same content as BBC Two simultaneously, as with the BBC One HD Channel. The old BBC HD channel, which was used as a stand-alone channel showing selected HD content from the BBC, will no longer air.
