The recent multiplayer beta for Battlefield 1 attracted a total of 13.2 million players across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Considering the majority of games often fail to ship over a million units, having 13.2 million play your multiplayer beta months before release is pretty damn impressive.

Ever since its announcement earlier this year, Battlefield 1 has been on the top of gamer’s wishlists thanks to its unique setting and dynamic, destructive gameplay.

Writing in a blog post, DICE senior producer Aleksander Grondal took time to thank everyone who took part, noting that the development team is busy trawling through all the feedback and data gathered from the beta.

"We're trawling through forum posts, social media mentions, and digging into some great data," Grondal said. "We're identifying what worked well, and what didn't work as well...In the near future, we'll have more details on the changes we'll be making to the full version of the game."

Grondal also noted that some vehicles, such as the light tank, seemed to “perform a little too well” and will be nerfed ahead of the full release on October 21.

The recent Battlefield 1 multiplayer beta ran from August 30 to September 8, and was a ton of fun, giving players access to two different modes across the Sinai Desert map.

Servers struggled under heavy load, but for the most part, it was a smooth and enjoyable experience.
