Batman: Arkham Origins trailer released alongside pre-order content

The first full-length Batman: Arkham Origins trailer has been released along with details of the game’s pre-order content.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released the first full length trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins, building on the teaser trailer released late last week.

The Batman: Arkham Origins trailer is nearly five minutes long and shows a young Batman taking out a bunch of goons before taking on assassin Deathstroke in an action packed fighting sequence.

However, then we are shown Deathstroke interacting with Black Mask, who has placed a hit on Batman’s head. This target causes all the assassins and supervillians in the DC Universe to crawl out of the woodwork into Gotham City with the aim of taking Batman out.

The first in the franchise to be developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham Origins will be a prequel to the two existing titles, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.

Showcasing a “young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career”, Batman: Arkham Origins will launch on Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Anyone pre-ordering the game for PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 will receive exclusive early access to the Deathstroke pack, which includes a host of Deathstroke-themed content.

“Deathstroke will come complete with his own unique weapons and special moves, and will be playable in all challenge maps in the game, as well as two additional challenge maps that will be included with the pack. The pack will also contain two alternate Deathstroke character skin.”

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment also released five official Batman: Arkham Origins screenshots alongside the full-length trailer. The screenshots reveal two more assassins that will be featured in the game: Anarky and the Joker.

Last month, Batman: Arkham Origins screenshots and plot details leaked online, revealing that the game will be the first in the franchise to feature online multiplayer gameplay.

The Batman: Arkham Origins release date have been set for October 25 on multiple platforms, and a handheld version entitled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch the same day for PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
