Batman: Arkham Origins official teaser trailer released

Warner Bros Montreal has released an official Batman: Arkham Origins teaser trailer that shows Batman take on Deathstroke.

The Batman: Arkham Origins teaser trailer pits a “young, raw, unrefined” Batman against one-eyed assassin and mercenary Deathstroke several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.

“Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment is his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight,” reads the Batman: Arkham Origins site. “As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged.”

The teaser trailer reveals that a full-length Batman: Arkham Origins trailer will be released on May 20 via the game’s Facebook page.

Last month, Batman: Arkham Origins screenshots and plot details emerged, describing the game’s Gotham city as a “functional city” rather than a “deserted wasteland” that is around double the size of the Batman: Arkham City world.

Warner Bros Montreal has set the Batman: Arkham Origins release date for October 25, with the game shipping for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC. A handheld version of the game entitled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch on the same day for PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS.

Batman: Arkham City is being produced by Warner Bros Montreal rather than Rocksteady Studios who is responsible for the series’ first two games.

“We are huge fans of the franchise and are committed to creating an experience that offer players more of what they love, as well as the chance to play as a younger Batman within a fresh storyline and expanded world,” said Reid Schneider, Vice President and Executive Producer of WB Games Montreal.

Check out the full Batman: Arkham Origins trailer on May 20, but until then content yourself with our next-gen PS4 and Xbox 720 console roundups.
