Keeps your ears clog-free

Bored of your normal old earphones? You want BatBand.

It looks like a hairband but is actually a set of headphones. As you'll notice, it doesn't have any earbuds. Instead, it uses bone conduction technology to emit sound waves through your skull. It sounds scary, but it's really not.

It's not the first set of headphones to use the tech, but it is one of the coolest-looking. The advantage is you can still hear the outside world around you while listening to music. Which makes it much safer when cycling or crossing roads.

It has three transducers that emit sound. Two touch the temporal bone on the sides of your head, and one at the back of your head touching the occipital bone. Because of the bone conduction tech, the sound is almost unnoticeable to passersby, so you can listen to Justin Bieber with no one knowing.

It pairs to your phone over Bluetooth, and has touch controls. It also works as a handsfree kit, though as with all of them, you will look like you're talking to god.

The outer frame is made of spring steel, so it'll grip your head nice and snug. Not only will this mean it stays on while jogging, it'll also minimise sound leakage. A padded lining makes sure it's comfortable.

We like its futuristic look. And when not in use, it could even double as a hairband.

It can be yours for $250 (£163). It's raised $32,000 of a $150,000 target. If successful, it'll ship in April.
