Bang & Olufsen has launched a trio of new BeoLab wireless speakers, all with different and unique selling points.
The BeoLab 17 is a compact speaker with a wedge-like design, the BeoLab 18 are the newest column
speakers and the BeoLab 19 is a new subwoofer.
All three speakers are equipped with the new WiSA standard for multi-channel wireless sound.
“These new speakers are at the vanguard of a new era of high-end sound,” said Lars Fredsgaard, Speaker Category Director at Bang & Olufsen. “Until now, speakers with this level of performance had to be wired. Our latest launch uses a robust wireless standard with enough bandwidth and channels to deliver a listening experience the way the artist intended it. Upgrading to premium sound – without downgrading your décor – is now available in three ways.”
All three speaker sets are available from November.
BeoLab 17 Features
The BeoLab 17 is a compact speaker measuring up at 25 x 32 x 14cm and weighs 5.5kg. It features a new proprietary sound engine along with two drivers and two class D amplifiers.
It will retail for £2,590 per set, with the duo of speakers designed with a “triangular cabinet” asymmetric form.
BeoLab 18 Features
The BeoLab 18 is a duo of column speakers which each contain two class D amplifiers and three drivers with Bang & Olufsen’s Acoustic Lens sound technology.
Bang & Olufsen has made the cabinet of the BeoLab 18 speakers from anodized aluminium, while the 21 plates or lamellas come in black, white or oak. This unique design is intended to open up the sound for the listener.
The BeoLab 18 column speakers are priced at £3,990 but the solid oak lamella front will cost you an additional £790.
BeoLab 19 Features
Finally, the BeoLab 19 is an aluminium subwoofer that is also equipped with the new WiSA standard.
The speaker is fitted with two back-to-back 8-inch woofers and a separate D class amplifier for “rich, cultivated bass”.
The subwoofer retails for £2,195.
