Asus ZenFone 3 release will be ‘Zenvolution’, apparently

The Asus ZenFone 3 looks like it’s finally been given a release date – Monday, May 30.

That’s the date Asus has set for its newly confirmed ‘Zenvolution’ event, which will take place during Computex. It’s scheduled for 06:00 (GMT). We’re not entirely sure what the whole ‘Zenvolution’ bit is about, mind. We’re just in it for the phones.

While Asus hasn’t specifically confirmed that the ZenFone 3 will launch at the event, we’re hopeful. After all, the ZenFone 2 was announced nearly 18 months ago, so the ZenFone 3 is long overdue. Plus, Computex takes place in Taiwan, which is home turf for Asus – there’s a need to impress.

Asus chairman Jonney Shih exclusively confirmed the existence of the ZenFone 3 to TrustedReviews back in October 2015. At the time, Shih revealed Asus planned to debut USB-C on the ZenFone 3, but plans may have changed since then.

Interestingly, Asus’ Computex invitation is stamped with an Intel logo. It’s not clear whether this means that the ZenFone 3 will ship with an Intel processor on board, or whether it’s just recognition of the longstanding partnership between both firms on Asus computing devices.
