Asus has just announced a new addition to its svelte ZenBook line-up with the new ZenBook UX305.
Foremost amongst its features is the inclusion of Intel’s new Core M processor, revealed late last year.
The Intel Core M chip is our first look at Broadwell chip architecture, and is produced using a super-efficient 14nm FinFet manufacturing process.
It’s reportedly around two to three times more powerful than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 mobile chip, and should provide plenty of heft for a thin-and-light ZenBook.
And thin-and-light it is, with the UX305 weighing just 1.2kg and measuring up at a near-invisible 12.3mm.
The notebook makes use of a 13.3-inch IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
It also boasts an impressive 8GB of memory, as well as a 128GB solid state storage drive.
There’s a 45Wh battery inside, which Asus reckons will keep the full HD display juiced for 10 hours.
Connectivity comes courtesy of three USB 3.0 ports, one of which supports Asus Charge Plus technology for rapid smartphone charging.
There’s also a USB-to-Ethernet adapter bundled with the UX305, with a mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter also included in the box.

The UX305 comes running Windows 8.1, offers touchscreen support, multi-touch Smart Gesture support via the touchpad, and a backlit keyboard.
The laptop also touts Asus SonicMaster Audio sound, which sees Bang & Olufsen’s ICEpower tech help provide deep bass and clear vocals.
It’s also designed in classic ZenBook style, with a sleek wedge-shape chassis built from solid aluminium, available in ‘Obsidian Stone’.
The Asus ZenBook UX305 will be available from Currys, PC World, and John Lewis, retailing at £649.99.
