New images of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer have emerged
ahead of the official launch two weeks tie.
The Transformer Prime was first unveiled by
Jonney Shih, CEO of Asus, at the All Things D AsiaD conference last week but
he gave us just a brief glimpse of the tablet/laptop.
Notebook Italia spotted a number of images of Zenbook-like
Prime and managed to capture the amateur shots before they were removed fro the
The new images reinforce the sense that the follow-up to the
very successful Eee Pad Transformer will have a much more premium look, copying
the embossed concentric circles on the back of the tablet.
Asus will be launching the new Android tablet on 9 November but
we already know that the Transformer Prime will be powered by the quad-core
Tegra 3 (codenamed Kal-El) processor from Nvidia – the first tablet to do so.
It will be just 8.3mm thick, but Asus did not say if this was
docked or on its own, but looking at the images we think Asus is talking about
the tablet on its own.The pictures also show that there will be an LED flash situated next to the camera on the rear.
The tablet will have a 10.1in screen and have a full-sized
USB port and mini-HDMI port as well as a full-sized SD card slot. Aligned with a
promised 14.5 hour battery life and the possibility of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream
Sandwich) on board, we could be seeing another winner from Asus.
Let us know in the comments what you think of the Transformer
Prime and we’ll be back soon with all the official details on 9 November.
