Asus hints at ZenWatch 3 IFA unveil, teases ‘something incredible’

Earlier this week images of what appeared to be the upcoming ZenWatch 3 surfaced online, ahead of an expected launch at IFA this month.

The shots seemed to show off a newly rounded design and extra physical buttons, suggesting Asus has overhauled the design of its smartwatch for the new model.

And now, it seems we can expect to see the device in all its glory on August 31, when Asus is set to present at this year’s IFA conference.

The company was widely expected to unveil the new ZenWatch on this date, but a new teaser ad posted to Twitter all but confirms it.

Although the device isn’t mentioned directly, it is perhaps the most anticipated Asus product of the moment, all of which points to it being the centre piece of the August presentation.

Not much is known of the device but a recent FCC filing revealed it should come with Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n and a stainless steel back.

It’s also expected to charge at 5V/2A and come with 10W fast charging. “Customizable keys”, are also mentioned, which could mean the new physical buttons can be set to perform custom tasks.

Stay tuned for updates directly from IFA, where we’ll be reporting on all the new announcements and developments in Berlin.
