Assassin’s Creed Unity release date pushed back a fortnight

The Assassin’s Creed Unity release date has been pushed back a fortnight to allow for more development time.

Originally, Assassin’s Creed Unity was scheduled for release on October 28, but now won’t arrive until November 11 in the US and November 13 in Europe.

The extra fortnight is being dedicated to additional development time, because Ubisoft is keen to ensure the game “meets fans’ – and the team’s – lofty expectations”.

“As we got close to the finish, we realised we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional,” said Vincent Pontbriand, Senior Producer at Ubisoft. “We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.”

Assassin’s Creed Unity is set during French Revolution Paris and looks to be the defining iteration of the Assassin’s Creed series.

You’ll be able to spot key Parisian landmarks like the Notre Dame, but overall the game will be much larger than previous series entries. That’s partly down to the ability to enter around a quarter of the buildings in-game, something that was very limited previously.

In fact, some say the map is approximately 50 times bigger than the Assassin’s Creed 3 map.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue
is still on course for the November 11 US release date, but the European release for Rogue has been pushed to November 13 in line with the Unity launch.
