Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate might be Victory’s official title

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

The next Assassin’s Creed game might be called ‘Syndicate’, rather than ‘Victory’, as previously expected.

News site Polygon claims it has obtained official marketing material suggesting the alternative name is the actual title.

An earlier report by Kotaku suggested that ‘Victory’ may actually have been the game’s code-name.

According to the newly acquired marketing material, the game will ‘transport millions of gamers to an astonishing recreation of London during the Industrial Revolution where they will find themselves immersed in a game world they’ll have to see to believe.”

The report details how the game will star an assassin called Jacob Frye, although the character’s background is not yet known.

It’s also expected to customers who pre-order Syndicate from Gamestop will receive a shilling necklace. This is modelled on the same one worn by Frye in the game.

Ubisoft will be unveiling the new game tomorrow, May 12, at 5pm UK time, so we’ll know for sure then.

Interestingly, the US version of the official Assassin’s Creed site has a pair of brass knuckles pictured.

Alongside this is text that reads ‘God Save the Queen’, which is almost assured confirmation that the game will be set in England.
