Ahead of this evening’s formal unveiling, the first official Assassin’s Creed 4 trailer has leaked online, offering an insight into the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag release.
Following last week’s premature unveiling of the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag release date and cover art, new leaks have seen the first Assassin’s Creed 4 trailer hit the web, giving the first look at the title’s new lead character, gameplay and pirate enriched Caribbean setting.
Set to be formally unveiled later today, last week an official spokesperson for Ubisoft, the publisher behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise, stated: “We confirm that Ubisoft will announce all the details of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on Monday March 4th at 5PM GMT.”
Showing the shady side of the upcoming title’s lead protagonist, a character rumoured to be Edward Kenway, father of Assassin’s Creed 3 lead Haytham Kenway and a known Assassin and Privateer, the newly leaked Assassin’s Creed 4 trailer has teased the island-hopping gameplay set to feature in the latest Assassin’s Creed offering. Although as yet unconfirmed, recent reports have suggested Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be set in 1715, with settings seeing gamers taken to the likes of Cube, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
Whilst the Assassin’s Creed 4 trailer has offered an insight into the title’s gameplay, the leaked video has also seemingly confirmed the previously rumoured Assassin’s Creed 4 release date with Black Flag tipped for an October 29 arrival.
On top of this, as well as confirming the eagerly awaited game will land on existing Xbox 360 and PS3 offerings, the Ubisoft trailer, like previous leaks on the company’s website, has suggested that the game is “also coming on next-gen consoles,” a statement that seems to suggest both a PS4 and Xbox 720 arrival.
