Apple has announced plans to live stream its September 9 launch event, perhaps the company’s most important keynote in recent memory.
The address, where the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch are expected to be announced, will be available to watch on any device running Safari 5.1.10 on desktop, iPads and iPhones running iOS 6 or on 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV devices, via the special events channel.
The live stream will kick off at the usual 6pm UK time from the company’s home city in Cupertino, California.
The early announcement is a bit of a surprise though, given the company usually makes expectant fans wait until the last minute before informing us whether there’ll be a video stream to tune into.
The company is also quite picky about which events it decides to live stream, but given the tech expected to be on show at this particular launch it’s no surprise Apple wants as many people tuning in as possible.
Also expected is the long-awaited iWatch (or whatever Apple decides to call its wearable device), which should make an appearance ahead of a release tipped for early 2015.
Reports on Thursday also suggested a surprise in the shape of a new iPad Air may also be launched at next Tuesday’s soiree.
One high profile analyst believes Apple may show of an iPad Air 2 with an A8 processor and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
