Apple Watch gets even more refined with new customisable stickers

Proud owners of the Apple Watch now have another reason to lord it over less fortunate human beings – stickers.

Apple has talked up the sheer variety of Apple Watches available, with consumers able to choose between size, model (Watch, Watch Sport or Watch Edition) and strap.

However, only the gold Edition comes with a Digital Crown in a variety of colours, while the stainless steel Watch models ship with a black crown. The Watch Sport’s buttons are left completely plain.

US firm WatchDots wants to riff on this design oversight and take Apple Watch customisation to the next level.

The company has created a range of stickers – also called WatchDots – which you can apply to the timepiece’s Digital Crown and contacts button.

“WatchDots are the product of a marriage between fashion and technology,” reads the company’s website. “This is how the Apple Watch should look.”

Right now, you can choose between six colours, which are pink, green, blue, white, black and red, though WatchDots says new colours and limited edition releases will be on the way. Each pack costs $9.99 (£6.33).

According to the company, the labels are made of premium-grade vinyl film and “are die cut to precisely and consistently fit on both the Digital Crown and side button so as not to interfere with function.”

They’re also said to be long-lasting and able to withstand all types of weather, handy given the Apple Watch’s positioning on your wrist.
