Apple updates Macbook Air and Pro line-ups at Watch event

Apple has just announced upgrades to both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro ranges.

The MacBook Air will now carry fifth-generation Intel Cores processor, and will also boast Thunderbolt 2 connectivity.

That’s to bring it closer in line to the company’s new MacBook, the thinnest and lightest notebook from the company yet.

The MacBook Pro is also getting some love, namely with an update to fifth-generation Intel Core processors.

It’s also going to get Thunderbolt 2 connectivity too, mimicking the updates to the MacBook Air.

The MacBook Pro is getting some bonus goodies too, however. One key addition is the new Force Touch trackpad.

That’s Apple’s new take on trackpads, which sees a capacitive pressure-sensitive touchpad added in place of the old mechanical offering.

The Force Touch trackpad also boasts haptic feedback, which means you’ll actually feel what you click through subtle vibrations.

Apple also revealed that the flash storage on the new MacBook Pro would be two times faster than older models.

It also confirmed that we’d see 10 hours of battery life from the MacBook Pro, which is probably thanks to more efficient storage and the upgraded processors.

Both of these units will land alongside the new 12-inch MacBook with Retina display – due to ship April 10 – and will retain all of the classic MacBook features and design style
