Apple testing iPhones with 6-inch screens, report claims

Apple iPhone

Apple is experimenting with larger displays for future iterations of its iPhone smartphone, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The business bible says Apple is working with test devices ranging from 4.8- to 6-inches in size, much larger than the current 4-inch screen residing on the iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 5S is likely to retain that 4-inch Retina Display, but future iterations of the device could upsize with the Journal claiming Apple is more willing to shift from its traditional strategy than in recent years.

The paper's sources claim Apple is particularly interested in recent tests for a 4.8-inch display, which could emerge as a potential screen size for 2014's iPhone 6 device. That device is likely to bring more changes than this year's expected incremental update.

According to the report, Apple is exploring potential growth areas in order to compete with Samsung, which continues to offer all manner of devices in all manner of sizes to suit a range of audiences.

An iPhone in a choice of display sizes would give potential buyers more choice in the face of infinite options from Samsung's Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphones.

Apple is expected to launch two new smartphones on September 10, an iPhone 5S and an iPhone 5C, neither of which are expected to offer a screen size larger than 4-inches.

Apple phones lack innovation, also screens to small.
I use Galaxy Note 2, 12 months of continuse use and no problems -what a phone.
I will upgrade to the Note 3 for its Multi-tasking features.

What i wanted them to eventually do is have a line up where the cheapest iPhone will have a 4 inch screen and a normal iPhone will have a 4.5 inch- 4.7 inch screen next year (maybe the iPhone 6), then they will release a 'Phablet' iPhone that will have a 5.5 inch.

If we have a look back at old Apple products ( http://www.technologeek.net/a-... ), we can clearly see that the more an Apple device is recent, the more the screen is bigger. This is why I think that the next iPhone could have a bigger screen.
