Fresh reports from Europe suggest that Apple may be gearing up for a simultaneous iPad Mini and iPhone 5 launch on September 12.
According to MacRumours, a number of European retailers are reporting that Apple has requested additional retail space for iPad-related displays over the coming weeks. Indeed, one of these sources even goes so far as to name September 12 as the date pinpointed for these changes to be made.
As those of you who’ve been paying attention to recent Apple rumours will know, that’s the precise date the iPhone 5 is expected to be revealed. Could Apple be planning a massive dual-launch?
The iPad Mini is rumoured to be a 7.85-inch iteration of Apple’s class-leading tablet device. It’ll apparently share the iPad’s 4:3 aspect ratio, but will have a much thinner side bezel in order to make it easier to hold in one hand.
It’s believed that the iPad Mini will be sold at significantly less than the current full fat iPad model, bringing it more in line with direct 7-inch rivals the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Of course, such a saving would be offset dramatically should we be forced to splash out on a £600 phone at the same time. But then, being an Apple fan has never been cheap, has it?
