Apple will officially announce plans to bring Apple Pay to the UK during tomorrow’s WWDC keynote, latest reports have claimed.
The iPhone 6 and Apple Watch-enabled contactless payment service has been exclusive to the US since last year’s release, but, according to The Telegraph, that is all about to change.
Citing unnamed ‘industry sources’, the newspaper has claimed an Apple Pay UK release plan will be confirmed tomorrow, June 8.
The wait for users will continue a little longer, however, with the actual British-based rollout not expected to be carried out for a further two months.
An exact release date has yet to be confirmed, although it has been suggested the launch will preceded the expected September introduction of the iPhone 6S.

Although much of the infrastructure needed to accept Apple Pay payments is already in place in the UK, it is believed Apple is still in discussions with the country’s leading banks over partnerships.
Earlier this week, Transport for London (TfL) revealed it has already started accepting Apple Pay transactions from visiting US nations.
“People are already using Apple Pay on the TFL network, Even though Apple Pay has yet to launch in the UK,” TfL’s Director of Customer Experience, Shashi Verma said.
He added: “The system is opened up to everything right now.”
