Apple News

It’s all go on Twitter today. First the company secured the rights to broadcast NFL games, then it unlocked a share-to-DM button and now Apple has a opened new account for its news aggregation service.

The new @AppleNews account will create top stories and ‘great reads’ as curated by its US-based editors.

In two hours since launching the account the company has chosen to share stories from Wired, SBNation and CNN, focusing on the Panama Papers, the NCAA National Championship basketball game and the Wisconsin primary elections.

The launch comes as Apple gradually increases the number of accounts it has on Twitter.

The Apple Support page arrived last month, while the likes of Apple Music, Beats 1, iBooks and the App Store also have active accounts.
