Leaked screenshots have reportedly offered the first look at the Apple Music app for Android ahead of its official release.

The shots, which seem to offer a look at the beta version of the app, have apparently been lurking on German tech site Mobile Geeks for the last week (via 9to5Mac).

If the screenshots are legitimate - which is highly likely - they reveal a slightly different design approach for Apple's streaming platform. The UI tab has been moved to a slide-out menu, a la other Android-friendly apps.

However, there’s not that much in the way of Google's Material Design on offer, with the screenshots showing a near-identical ‘For Me’ page.

In terms of content, well Beats 1 is on board as expected, as is the Apple Music Connect social network for artists. The full content library also appears to be available, judging by the screenshots.

Apple hasn’t announced when Apple Music will be available on Android devices, but it will be keen to add to those 6.5m paying subscribers, as well as broaden the audience for the free Beats 1 radio station.

It also remains to be seen whether Apple will offer a three-month free trial as iOS users were able to enjoy until the end of last month.

The release of Apple Music on Android will be a landmark launch in the mobile industry, given it's the first major release of an Apple app on Google's mobile OS.

The company recently released a tool that allowed Android users to convert over to iOS, but this is a much, much bigger deal.

Are you an Android user who would consider crossing over to the dark side in order to sample Apple Music? Would a three-month free trial sweeten the pot?
