Apple Music back online following re-subscription bug

The Apple Music streaming service was hit by a bug on Thursday, which denied subscribers access to the service.

The problem, experienced by Apple Music users on iOS, saw paying customers greeted with a splash screen requesting they sign up.

Contrarily, those who had attempted to sign up were also unable to listen after being informed they were already Apple Music members.

Elsewhere, users on the desktop through iTunes were also receiving error messages preventing them from enjoying music.

The issue which appears to have latest for a number of hours on Thursday, has been acknowledged by Apple’s System Status webpage, with the firm saying it has been fixed.

The issue comes during an otherwise positive week for the fledgling streaming service.

Earlier this week we brought word the company had already amassed ten million subscribers in the six months since launch.

It was a landmark Spotify took six years to achieve, but given Spotify’s role in pioneering streaming, it appears Apple has benefitted from the Swedish company’s legwork.
