Apple moves like Lightning to kill first bug of headphone jack-free era

The transition to an iPhone 7 handset free of the traditional headphone jack hasn’t gone as smoothly as Apple had hoped.

The company has today released an iOS 10 update to remedy a widely-reported issue that caused the physical controls on Lightning headphones to shut off during periods of inactivity.

10.0.2 is now available for download, just a couple of days after Apple vowed to fix the problem (via The Verge).

Elsewhere in this minor update are fixes for issues that affected iCloud Photo Library.

After a slight snafu with the first adopters experiencing bricked devices during the first hour or so of release, the iOS 10 launch has been pretty smooth thus far.
