Apple has launched its most advanced version of its music software called Logic Pro X, complete with a whole new interface and a wealth of creative tools.

Introducing all new features like Drummer and Flex Pitch, Logic Pro X is also coupled with a new iPad app called Logic Remote that allows users to control the software from iOS tablets like the iPad 4 or iPad mini.

“Logic Pro X is our most powerful version yet, with advanced tools and a modern new interface designed to streamline the process of creating professional quality music”, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing. “Musicians are going to love creative new features like Drummer, Flex Pitch, Track Stacks and the Arpeggiator.”

Providing music software for professionals to partner the GarageBand products aimed at those who like to dabble in music composition, previous Logic Pro versions have been heralded by professional musicians.

“Logic Pro was critical to writing and recording our debut album, Night Visions, so we couldn’t wait to get our hands on Logic Pro X,” said Imagine Dragons guitarist Wayne Sermon.

Logic Pro X Features

Claiming to not have lost any of its musical prowess, Logic Pro X has been given a “modern new look” and has introduced some more advanced tools for more complex technical tasks.

Flex Pitch is designed to help smooth out of tune vocals or even change individual notes to modify the melodies of recorded audio.

Track Stacks is another new feature that enables musicians to collapse multiple tracks into one, while Smart Controls allows quick plug-in and parameter manipulation.

The new Drummer functionality delivers “professionally produced, realistic drum tracks” for composers, while the Drum Kit Designer plug-in lets users custom built their own kit for their ideal drum songs for the song.

Logic Pro X also has nine new MIDI plugins, including the Arpeggiator and there are new Retro Synth and Vintage Keyboards plug-ins.

There’s a new Bass Amp Designer too and an entirely unique Sound Library and effect Patches to take advantage of as well.

Logic Pro X Release Date and Price

Available now through the Mac App Store, Logic Pro X costs £142, while the Logic Remote app is free to download for iOS tablets.
