iPhone 7 camera snapped in new spy shot

An image alleging to show the camera of Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 7 has leaked and appears to confirm rumours that the new smartphone will sport a supersized snapper.

The photo (above) was first posted by Dutch blog TechTastic before being picked up by 9to5Mac, and depicts a larger rear camera than we’ve seen before on Apple’s handsets.

If accurate – and the site has posted legitimate leaked images of iPhones before – the embiggened camera opening would seem to chime with rumours that the iPhone is getting a dual camera set-up later this year.

While such a system would likely be a good thing, the image also shows the camera bulging out from the back of the phone – a considerably less attractive feature for most.

Of course, the photo is noticeably grainy so we shouldn’t take it as fact, but it does seem to support recent speculation about the device, which is also expected to come in a new ‘Space Black’ flavour.
