With the iPhone 5 release date confirmed for later this month, Apple has revealed that the in-demand handset will follow a familiar pricing structure with iPhone 5 prices to start from £529.

Whilst Apple has confirmed that US iPhone 5 prices are to kick off from just $199 (£123.53) when wannabe owners sign up to a new two year contract with network providers, the Cupertino based company has revealed that the eagerly awaited handset will launch in the UK with prices kicking off at the princely sum of £529.

Having confirmed that the handset will hit retailers in just nine days time, Apple has confirmed that having increased the handset in size from 3.5-inches to a new 4-inch form factor, iPhone 5 prices will kick off £30 more than the launch prices of its iPhone 4S predecessor with the base level 16GB handset making the jump from £499 to £529 on the sixth-gen smartphone.

Although the the 16GB iPhone 5 price has been raised over the 4S launch cost, those looking to snap up the larger capacity devices will face familiar set backs as 32GB and 64GB are priced at £599 and £699 respectively.

Apple iPhone 5 Release Date

Set to be made available for pre-order from this Friday, September 14th, Apple has confirmed that the eagerly awaited iPhone 5 release date will be held on September 21st, just nine days after the device’s first public appearance.

Launching in the UK and US simultaneously, the confirmed iPhone 5 release date brings to an end months of speculation with Apple’s latest handset to land as the first device to play host to a Nano SIM card and the company’s new 8-pin dock connector.

Apple iPhone 5 Specs

Whilst the move to a new 4-inch Retina display with a stunning 1136 x 640p image resolution and the refreshed design are the most obvious alterations to the iPhone 5, Apple has brimmed the handset with less visually noticeable changes, too.

Lining up as a direct rival to the likes of the Android market dominating Samsung Galaxy S3, the iPhone 5 is Apple’s first handset to come packing the A6 processor whilst the device will also see an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera partnering a second, forward-facing snapper.

Stay tuned for more iPhone 5 pricing details and network offers when available.
