Apple iMac revamp adds 4K, 5K, and Skylake

Apple has updated its entire line-up of iMac desktop computers, kitting models out with high-grade new displays.

The company’s 21.5-inch iMac now features a 4K display for the very first time.

What’s more, the every 27-inch iMac model will now ship with a super-high resolution 5K screen.

Apple has also updated the processing and graphical potential of its iMacs, which now also feature two Thunderbolt 2 ports and new storage options.

There are also a number of new wireless accessories, including the new Magic Trackpad 2, which offers up Apple’s pressure sensitive Force Touch technology, as featured on this year’s 12-inch MacBook.

From the first iMac to today, the spirit of iMac has never wavered – deliver the ultimate desktop experience with the latest technologies, gorgeous displays and cutting-edge designs,” says Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing.

He adds: “These are the most stunning iMacs we’ve ever made. With our gorgeous new Retina displays, more powerful processors and graphics and all-new Magic accessories, the new iMac continues to redefine the ultimate desktop experience.”
