Apple could launch ‘Jet White’ iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in time for Christmas
The iPhone 7 wasn’t quite the technological innovation may were hoping for, but it did come in a couple of shades of black: Black, and Jet Black.
Now, a new rumour suggests Apple is preparing to unveil a ‘Jet White’ colour option for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, possibly in time for the festive season.
As reported by Japanese blog Macotakara, citing ‘supply chain sources’, the company could be adding a new colour option to the handset’s range of hues, though it warns the information ‘may be unreliable’.

You can already pick up Apple’s latest handset in the aforementioned Black finishes, plus either Silver, Gold, or Rose Gold.
And while the current black option offers a matte finish, the Jet Black finish adds a shiny layer to the iPhone’s casing, suggesting that if a ‘Jet White’ option does exist, it will also come with the shiny finish.

Apple has never added a new colour option to its iPhone range once a particular model has been released, so we’re particularly sceptical about this latest rumour.
However, the company is hoping for a return to growth following declining sales year-over-year in several quarters this past year, so could take the step of adding a new colour option to revive its profits.
Apple’s annual revenue declined year on year for the first time since 2001 this year, falling from $233.7 billion in 2015 to $217 billion in 2016.

Either way, the suggestion of a White iPhone seems dubious, not to mention the report itself is very vague, but we’ll likely find out whether the rumours are true very soon.
In the mean time, speculation surrounding the iPhone 8 is already beginning to mount, with some suggesting the phone will arrive with a full-face display and no home button.
Stay tuned for the latest on the iPhone 7 and its upcoming successor in the coming months.
