Angry Birds Star Wars has been released for iPhone, iPad and Android.
The game brings together one of the hottest gaming properties of recent years with one of the hottest movie properties ever. Angry Birds Star Wars takes Rovio's familiar bird-pinging gameplay and sprinkles on a good dose of Lucas magic.
Angry Birds Star Wars is more than just a spin-off - it's a full game in its own right, with 120 levels to play through. These borrow elements from the classic earth-bound Angry Birds games as well as the clever gravity-based twists of the more recent Angry Birds Space (no rooms for any Bad Piggies construction here, we're afraid).
Of course, the main addition here is the Star Wars universe, and its introduction is more than a mere cosmetic tweak. The red bird - given the role of Luke Skywalker - has the ability to cut through obstructing blocks with its light saber, whilst the slow-moving Obi Wan bird can force-push objects out of the way in mid-flight.
Meanwhile in Angry Birds Star Wars's bonus levels, R2-D2 can zap multiple pigs at close range and C-3PO acts like a rather more useless blue bird by splitting into multiple chunks.
Rather than the Mighty Eagle, the game's smartbomb is the Mighty Falcon - Han Solo's famous Millennium Falcon, which swoops in to obliterate the screen.
As you might expect, you also get the fan service of seeing key scenes from the Star Wars movies reenacted in an Angry Birds style. Suffice to say that the towering Darth Vader is actually a couple of pigs sat on top of each other wearing a cloak and a helmet. It's all very silly indeed.
Angry Birds Star Wars is available for free (with ads) on the Google Play store (we've tried it on an HTC One X, and it looks and plays great), while on iOS it's 69p for iPhone (yes, it's iPhone 5 ready) and £1.99 for the iPad HD version. The latter takes advantage of the extra screen space and retina displays of the iPad 3 and iPad 4.
