Finnish developer Rovio has released a new Angry Birds Star Wars trailer offering a tantalising first glimpse at the upcoming app-based game ahead of its imminent release.
With a November 8th Angry Birds Star Wars release date set to see the movie themed spin off launch in a little over a week’s time, Rovio has unveiled a new Angry Birds Star Wars gameplay video, highlighting a selection of levels and lightsaber wielding features that will appear in the upcoming title.
The first gameplay footage of the upcoming title, Angry Birds Star Wars will see the world’s most successful app-based gaming experience join forces with George Lucas’ iconic collection of characters for the latest Star Wars themed spin-off that is sure to dominate the lucrative Christmas markets.
Featuring some extremely familiar gameplay styles, the new Angry Birds Star Wars release will see gamers once again fire avian themed protagonists, this time in Star Wars styled garb, at a selection of egg stealing pigs. Taking shelter in a host of Star Wars themed barricades that will be familiar to fans of the film franchise, gamers are tasked with destroying the pigs with a selection of new weapons such as lightsabers at their disposal.
With a selection of merchandise to launch alongside the upcoming iOS, Android and PC based gaming release, Angry Birds Star Wars follows-on from a collection of recent Angry Birds based launches that has seen the original title joined by Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space and the recent roll reversal of Bad Piggies.
“The Angry Birds and Star Wars universes will collide in our best game to date,” a Rovio spokesperson has announced ahead of the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars UK release date. Whilst prices for the title have yet to be confirmed, it is expected that the iPhone 5 compatible, iOS based rendition of Angry Birds Star Wars will set wannabe owners back the standard 69p fee.
