Angry Birds Star Wars 2 available now

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 is available to download now for multiple platforms, offering gamers a range of new characters and gameplay.

The sequel to the successful Angry Birds Star Wars, the new app allows gamers to play as the pigs on the “Pork Side” and is available on Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8 and Amazon Kindle Fire devices.

Gamers will also have access to over 30 new characters including the pod-racing Anakin, Mace Windu, Yoda or Jango Fett to fling about in Angry Birds Star Wars 2. 

“Angry Birds Star Wars 2 combines the rich worlds of both Angry Birds and Star Wars in a unique way featuring fan favourite characters from both the dark and light side of the Force”, said Jami Laes, EVP of Games at Rovio. “We have taken the gameplay to a whole new level, giving our fans the option to play as both the birds and the pigs.”

Rovio has also introduced Telepods, which are toy figurines that can be teleported into the game by being placed on the camera of the smartphone or tablet.

“We are also excited to introduce the amazing new Telepods from Hasbro. For the first time ever our new characters will not only appear in future game updates, but also on store shelves. We’ve heavily invested in the longevity of the franchise and have great updates already lined up for the coming months.”

There are already 30 Telepods characters to collect, with Rovio planning to release more in the future.

Available to download now, the ad-free Android version costs 79p and 69p for iOS devices. Angry Birds Star Wars 2 can also be played on Windows Phone 8 devices and Amazon Kindle Fire tablets, with the game available via the Windows Phone and Amazon stores.
