Nougat? Nerds? Nutella? We don’t know what Android N will be called, but we know when it’s coming.

Google has finally revealed the date for the opening of Google I/O 2016 registration.

Would-be showgoers can register interest in attending the conference starting on March 8. Act quickly, however – the online registration is only available until March 10.

It’s worth noting that signing up doesn’t guarantee you a place at the conference. Instead, Google will randomly select attendees, all of whom will still have to pay a hefty $900 entry fee.

Check out last year's highlights below:

Don’t forget that Google I/O is mainly for developers, and so the conference will largely focus on Android software.

The main reveal at the conference – which takes place on May 18 – looks certain to be Android N.

Google hasn’t confirmed it will show off the next version of its Android operating system, but it’s almost assured that Android 7.0 will be revealed. However, we’ll likely hear some more information about Chromebooks, and possibly a bit of chatter about virtual reality too.

If you don’t manage to bag a slot, Google will be live-streaming the main events, so you won’t miss out on too much.
