One of the Raspberry Pi team members has begun porting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the Pi computer, and is already making "great progress." A $25 Android computer? We'll take three.

Raspberry Pi's Naren is porting Android 4.0 to the Raspberry Pi, and has produced a neat little video of the software in action, as was revealed yesterday on the official Raspberry Pi blog. By the sound of it, this project is not too far off a workable release, either.



Hardware acceleration for graphics has been implemented, with just "AudioFlinger support" to be worked on. There are plans to release a version for tech tinkerers to play with in due time as well - presumably from the Raspberry Pi website. Stay tuned for more.
