AMD has announced it will be giving away free copies of the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront game to buyers of AMD Fury R9 graphics cards.
The offer, which starts today, applies to buyers of the AMD Radeon R Fury X, AMD Radeon R9 Fury and possibly the AMD Radeon R9 Nano, though we're waiting for confirmation on the latter.
Although only available through select retailers these include a broad selection of the larger etailers such as Dabs, Ebuyer, Overclockers and Scan here in the UK. The offer is also available throughout most of Europe and the US.
Buyers will receive a code with their graphics card purchase that can then be redeemed at the AMD Star Wars Battlefront promotion website.
The offer is a significant boon for AMD in its bid to sell more graphics cards as early signs are that Battlefront is set to be a hugely popular game that may well tempt some users to upgrade their systems.
With a free copy of the game amounting to a saving of at least £35, it could swing purchases away from choosing an Nvidia card. Nvidia in turn is offering free copies of either Assassin's Creed Syndicate or Rainbow Six Siege with purchases of GTX 970 cards or above.
However, given the offer is only open to R9 Fury cards you'll still be looking at spending around £400 so the saving is relative.
AMD also announced recently that its latest Catalyst 15.11.1 Beta drivers bring performance optimisations for the upcoming EA title, and it's available to download today.
